Alexandra
Rigazzi-Tarling - Soprano Alexandra
was born in Surrey, England in 1977. She graduated from the Guildhall
School of Music and Drama in 2003 with BMus Hons, MMus, and after
completing the opera course. She is now continuing her studies at
the Zurich Opera House Studio in Switzerland.
Alexandra
has given several recitals in Britain, Switzerland, Iceland, Luxembourg
and performances on cruise ships in South America and Asia.
She has an extensive repertoire as an oratorio soloist, and has
performed in St John's, Smith Square, Royal Albert Hall and in Europe.
Operatic
experience includes the Dame in the Kinder Zauberflöte, (Zurich
Opernhaus), the title role of Handel's Susanna (Guildhall School
of Music and Drama) after which The Metro wrote " … Alexandra
displays a dazzling coloratura technique.." and Opera Now said
"… she had the audience at her feet … she is destined
for stardom and soon." Alexandra also sang the role of Giunone
in a performance of Rossi's Orfeo and Fortuna in L'incoronazione
di Poppea, both at St John's, Smith Square in London, and she sang
with the Glyndebourne Festival Chorus during the summer of 2003.
Awards
include a prize in the English Singers and Speakers Competition,
winner of the Miriam Licette Scholarship, Countess of Munster, and
Musicians' Benevolent Fund.
Future
performances include recitals in Switzerland and the UK, the Baronessa
in Rossini's La Pietra del Paragone at the Zurich Opera House, and
further performances of the Kinder Zauberflöte.
