Dan
May
Photographer
Dan
May was born in the UK in 1969 and raised in the south west of England.
He left his job to pursue photography full time in 1994. Dan’s
powerful black and white prints are regularly exhibited both in
the UK and overseas and are in both private and corporate collections
throughout Europe and the USA.
His landscape
images revolve around mankind’s search for his place within
the natural world and frequently echo a time when man existed in
comparative harmony with the earth. His well-known dog photos approach
similar themes from a different perspective, exploring the readily
accepted but utterly unique relationship between man and dog. The
images are candid and never patronising, sharing the often-humorous
content with the subject.
Dan’s
work has been used for many purposes throughout the world and recent
corporate clients include Sainsbury’s, El Al, Seiko, John
Deere and Pfizer (Europe). However, his real motivations to go out
and photograph will always be producing dramatic and diverting prints
for lovers and collectors of photographic art. All his work is hand
printed personally to capture the image exactly as he perceived
it when the shutter was released.
