Jared Holt

Baritone

New Zealand born Jared Holt is currently in his last year at the opera school of the Royal College of Music a the Karaviotis Scholar, where he studies with Vera Rozsa

Operatic roles: Marullo (Rigoletto); Count (Marriage of Figaro (U/S); Schaunard (La Boheme); Zaretsky (Eugene Onegin); Yamadori (Madama Butterfly); Valentine (Faust); Eisenstein (Die Fledermaus); Baron (La Traviata); Podestat (Le Docteur Miracle); Masetto (Don Giovanni); Demetrius (Midsummer Night’s Dream); Marco (Gianni Schicchi); Figaro (Barber of Seville); Ned Keene (Peter Grimes – Italian debut at the Teatro Giuseppe Verdi, Trieste, Italy); Silvio (Pagliacci); Sid (Albert Herring).

Oratorios include: ‘Messiah’; Christmas Oratorio, ‘St John’ and ‘St Mathew Passions’ (Bach); Orff ‘Carmina Burana’; Rossini ‘Petite Messe Solenelle’; Faure ‘Requiem’.

Recitals include: Poulenc Songs (Malcolm Martineau); ‘Dichterliebe’ for BBC Radio Northern Ireland (Simon Lepper); the Young Songmakers Almanac Series; BBC Radio 3 ‘Voices’ recording of Brahms and Duparc (Eugene Asti); the ‘Sommets-Musicaux’ Festival, Gstaad, Switzerland (Gary Matthewman); and in April this year, ‘Die Schone Mullerin’ for BBC Radio 3 Wales (Simon Lepper).

Future projects include Papageno (Magic Flute) for the RCM and Nilakantha (Lakme) for Canterbury Opera, New Zealand. In August, Jared will join the ‘Vilar Young Artists Programme’ at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.
