John is currently based in Berlin and performs as a freelance opera and concert artist. John has performed as a Principal Artist with Opera Australia, Victoria State Opera and Opera Queensland, He works with the Symphony Orchestras of Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Hobart and has performed in recital in festivals and venues throughout Australia. John’s training has taken place at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and at the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne, Australia. John
took part in a Samling Foundation Masterclass at the invitation
of Sir Thomas Allen, which was broadcast in November 2000 by BBC
Television. He won several awards in the Australian Singing Competition
in both 1998 and 1999. In 1996 he won the City of Melbourne Song
Recital Award. His CD of Mozart songs on the Move label was awarded
Editor’s Choice in Australia’s Soundscapes magazine
