Swedish soprano Lisa Carlioth was born in Stockholm, where she completed her undergraduate degree at the Royal University College of Music in 1998.
She then continued her studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama under Ian Kennedy.
Between 1999 and 2001 Lisa studied with Peter Alexander Wilson at the R.S.A.M.D. in Glasgow, where she earned her Masters degree in Opera. More recently, she has been taking lessons with Pat Hay in Glasgow and Hans Dornbusch in Basel.

Lisa enjoys various types of music, particularly Oratorio, which she has regularly performed with Stockholm’s finest Baroque ensemble.

She has also been broadcast on television and radio, including the programme “In Tune” on Radio 3.
She has performed in Batignano, Italy as Aci in Handel’s Aci, Galatea e Polifemo.
In 2000, she sang in Monteverdi’s 1610-Vesper at the Edinburgh Festival with Andrew Parrot and the Taverner Consort. Lisa has also been featured in an Opera Gala with Alexander Lazarev and the R.S.N.O. More recently, she was engaged by the Nürnberger Symphoniker in Edvard Grieg’s Peer Gynt in the Meistersingerhalle, conducted by Jac van Steen.

Her operatic roles include Alcina in La liberatione di Ruggiero by Francesca Caccini in St. John Smith Square, Blanche in Poulenc’s Les Dialogues des Carmélites, Anne Truelove in Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress, and Mimi in La Bohème with The Scottish Opera on tour 2002.
