Ruth Stage

Visual Artist


Ruth was born in Hartlepool in 1969. She studied at Cleveland College of Art & Design, Newcastle University and then the Royal Academy Schools. Now living and working in West London she shows regularly at the New Grafton Gallery in Barnes and the Brandler Galleries in Essex.

Awarded: Tony Smith Landscape Award 1994; British Institute Fund 1994; David Murray Scholarship 1995; Natwest Art Prize 1995; The Hunting Prize (runner-up) 1995; Prize from M&G for best painter under 35, Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 1996; 1999 elected member of NEAC; Villiers David Prize, (runner-up) 2000; Villiers David Prize, Winner 2003; The Arts Club Prize NEAC 2003.
