Adrian Ward - Tenor

Adrian Ward is currently studying at the Guildhall School of Music. His teachers there include Adrian Thompson and presently Rudolf Piernay. His engagements include: Bach’s Christmas Oratorio St John’s, Smith Square and Mozart’s Requiem St Martin’s in the Field both with the London Soloist Orchestra. He sang as a soloist in a Bach project in the Cheltenham Festival with Christian Curnyn and with his Early Opera Company in Purcell’s Dido and Aedeus at St John’s. Last year Adrian sang as a soloist in both Arvo Part’s Passio and Bach’s B Minor mass at the Snape Maltings in the Aldeburgh Easter Festival.

Adrian’s opera experience includes the role of Gonzalve, L’heure espangole, (Ravel) in the South of France near Aix en Provence. Mercurio, La Didone (Cavalli) and Anfinomo, Il ritorno d' Ulisse (Monteverdi), both with Christian Curnyn at the Guildhall School. He also sang in Luigi Rossi’ Orfeo at St John’s, Smith Square and Chabrier’s L’étoile both for the Guildhall.

Adrian presented some songs from Britten’s Winter Words with Graham Johnson at The Red House in Aldeburgh and was also involved in his Schöne Müllerin (Schubert) project at the Guildhall. He attended the Britten – Pears school in Aldeburgh and participated in masterclasses with Han – Peter Blockwitz and Richard Egarr on Bach repertoire. This year he participated in The Almanac Young Songmakers masterclasses with Graham Johnson and sang in the final concert at St John’s, Smith Square in April last year.
