Martene Grimson -
Martene began her studies at the Sydney Conservatorium of MusicGraduating with a BMus (Hons).
She attended the Royal College of Music in London completing a Diploma of Advanced Opera at the Benjamin Britten Opera School .
Martene has recently completed her studies at the National Opera Studio in London and was supported by the Royal Opera House, Countess of Munster Musical Scholarship and the Madeline Finden Memorial Award.
Martene was a finalist in Placido Domingo’s Operalia 2005. Martene was awarded the Maggie Teyte and Miriam Licettte Scholarship 2004.
Martene has given recitals in the Lindbury Studio and Crush Room - ROH, St John Smith Square for the Rosenblatt Series, Fairfield Hall Croydon and for the Harrogate Festival. She made her Wigmore Hall debut as part of the Tillett Trust Young Artist Platform in December 2003.
Roles include; Sesto in Gluck’s La clemenza di Tito, Blanche - Dialogues des Carmélites, Helena - A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Britten), Laurette - Le Docteur Miracle (Bizet), Mrs Gleaton – Susanna (Floyd), Nemea - Si j’etais roi (Adam), Papagena (Die Zauberflöte) and Mary in Handel's Brockes Passion.
