Patrice Lamure - baritone
Patrice Lamure was born in Angers ( France) where he started singing in the Cathedral choir at the age of eight. He then studied at the Conservatoire in Angers and at the University of Musicology in Tours.
Between 1999 and 2003, Patrice completed his BMus degree at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London, under the tuition of David Pollard. He then joined the opera course at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, Glasgow, under the tuition of Patricia MacMahon. His operatic roles at the RSAMD have included Starveling in A Midsummer Night’s Dream by Britten, Ford in Falstaff by Verdi, Pelléas in Pelléas et Mélisande by Debussy and Bridegroom/Husband/Father in The Vanishing Bridegroom by Judith Weir.
In September 2005 Patrice joined the professional placement module at the CNIPAL in Marseille. During this 10 months course, Patrice auditioned for directors of opera houses, agents and conductors, appeared in public recitals and performed the role of John Styx in Orphée aux enfers by Offenbach at the Opéra de Marseille.
Future engagements include the roles of Fiorello in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, the grandfather clock and the cat in L’Enfant et les Sortilèges, Baron Douphol in La Traviata by Verdi, Yamadori in Madama Butterfly by Puccini and Ferryman in CurlewRiver by Britten for the Opéra Théâtre de Besançon.
