Ronald Nairne - Bass

Ronald Nairne studied singing at the Royal Scottish Academy and then at the Royal Academy in London with Glenville Hargreaves and Jonathan Papp. A former scholar of Paisley Abbey, he has performed most of the
major oratorios across Britain. Recently he has sung the roles of The Mongollian Soldier in the London Premiere of Judith Weirs A Night at the Chinese Opera and Sarastro for the Sir Colin Davies and John
Copely Production at the RAM, Osmin for Eastern Opera, The Abbot for Mahogany Opera, Fiesco for Opera UK and Swing Bass for ENO's Orfeo. He covered Zoroastro for Independent Opera and is currently touring
Sarastro with Armonico Consort.

Up and coming projects include Commendatore for the relaunch of English Chamber Opera, Clonter. He has been supported by the Sir James Caird scholarship, the Countess of Munster, The Musicians Benevolent Fund, The Sybil Tutton award, The Sue Chilcott award, The Robertson Trust, The Scottish Arts Council, The Scottish International Educational Trust and the Royal Academy of Music. A winner of the Frank Spedding Lieder Prize at the RSAMD Ronald was also a Royal Philarmonic Society Young Artist.
