Bibi
graduated from the University of East Anglia with a First Class
degree in Music, and went on to study at the Royal Academy of Music.
She currently studies with Graeme Danby and Jonathan Papp, and enjoys
a full and varied programme of opera, oratorio and recital.
Recent
opera engagements include Papagena (Die Zauberflöte) and Barbarina
(Le Nozze di Figaro) for Garsington Opera, Susanna (Figaro’s
Wedding) and Berta (Barber of Seville) for Opera Buffa, Belinda
(Dido and Aeneas) and Susanna (The Marriage of Figaro) for Eastern
Opera, Despina (Così fan Tutte) for Bampton Classical Opera,
Micaela (Carmen) in Buckinghamshire, Phyllis (Iolanthe) in London
conducted by Michael Lloyd, and Barbarina (Le Nozze di Figaro) in
the Gstaad Festival, Switzerland alongside Barbara Bonney and Gerald
Finley. Forthcoming engagements include Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus)
and Adina (L'Elisir d'Amore) for Eastern Opera, and Pamina (The
Magic Flute) for Kentish Opera. Bibi also regularly appears in opera
galas, and has many forthcoming in London and throughout the UK,
including the Viennese New Year's Eve Gala with the Brighton Philharmonic
in the Brighton Dome.
Bibi
has performed much of the oratorio repertoire in venues that span
the whole of the UK. These include Elgar The Apostles in London's
Barbican Hall, Handel Messiah with the Northern Sinfonia in Newcastle
and Middlesbrough Cathedrals, Holst Choral Symphony in Glasgow City
Hall, Mozart Exsultate, Jubilate in Poole Arts Centre, Dorset, Mozart
Mass in C Minor and Dvoràk Te Deum in Guildford Cathedral,
Fanshawe African Sanctus in the Brighton Festival, Haydn Creation
in St John’s, Smith Square, and Orff Carmina Burana in the
Royal Albert Hall. She has also made CD recordings of Carmina Burana
and Vaughan Williams Mass in G Minor, and has performed in Paris,
Bruges, Brussels and Vienna. Forthcoming engagements include Brahms
Ein Deutches Requiem in Arundel Cathedral, Handel Messiah in Southwark
Cathedral, Haydn Nelson Mass in St Andrew's Hall, Norwich, and Exsultate,
Jubilate in Windsor Chapel.
On
the concert platform, recent highlights include recitals in Italy,
gala concerts in the Royal Albert Hall and Royal Festival Hall,
Brahms Liebeslieder Walzer in the Wigmore Hall, St John’s,
Smith Square and the Royal Opera House Floral Hall, and recitals
in Southwark Cathedral and St James', Piccadilly. Future engagements
include song recitals with pianist Jonathan Papp in London, the
Lake District and throughout East Anglia.
