Julia
Lynch
Julia
Lynch was born in Dublin in 1964. She began to learn the piano
at the age of four, and went on to study with Denis Matthews
and David Parkhouse at the North East of Scotland Music School
in Aberdeen.
In 1982 she won a
scholarship to the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama
where she studied piano with Laurence Glover and harpsichord
with Alexa Maxwell. Whilst a student, she won all the college's
prizes for piano solo, accompaniment and chamber music.
Having
gained her BA and completed a year of post-graduate studies,
Julia was invited to join the staff of the RSAMD as accompanist,
a post she still holds.
Julia
is one of the busiest accompanists in the country, playing
in recital with singers and instrumentalists, as well as being
greatly in demand as official accompanist in many prestigious
competitions. She broadcasts regularly on radio and has recorded
several CDs of instrumental sonatas. Her work also takes her
abroad with recent recitals in Paris, Tokyo, Geneva and concerts
in the Festival of La Tour de France. Julia performs regularly
with the BBC Scottish and the Royal Scottish National Orchestras
and has featured in the Cardiff Singer of the World Competition. |
